I suspect that intense discussion of the impact of AI is going to to be a useful as intense discussion of the impact of the spinning roulette wheel. The unknowns are just way too large for us to have any measure of useful preparedness.
The best we can achieve is the illusion of control for a few years.
I don't disagree that the unknowns start large and rapidly branch into becoming unknowable, but I still think individuals can strive for more than just an illusion of control over some of their sphere of life - what do you think of the thoughts in my followup?
